ENAR presentation of Index results on positive action
30/11/2007 Brussels, Belgium

Summary

MPG considers how Index can serve as tool for policy change on positive action

Description

Thomas Huddleston presented the Index results to 30-odd members of the European Network Against Racism during their seminar entitled "Understanding positive action: from theory to practice." Thomas reviewed the EU Member States' areas of improvement as regards positive action policies in the labour market, political participation, and equality policies. He presented the Index as a potential advocacy tool for raising debates, setting standards, linking areas of strength and weakness in national policies, setting out pathways for policy change, encouraging learning from best practice in the EU, and tracking changes over time.
