The European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN)  is holding a General Assembly and conference in Cyprus from 10-12 June entitled 'EU Year 2010: Building a Europe for All', where MPG is to speak on bringing migrants into EU poverty strategies

Description

MPG Policy Analyst, Thomas Huddleston, has been invited to speak at the event where he will deliver recommendations on how to include migrants in the fight against poverty.  Topics will include:

  • How national and European civil society can work with the Social Inclusion Open Method of Coordination to mainstream migrants into anti-poverty strategies. 
  • How promoting new opportunities for labour migration among Justice and Home Affairs officials can be used as a poverty-reduction strategy.
  • How to raise awareness about the impact of poverty on residence rights and integration.
  • How to better strategise and inform EU free movers of their social and economic rights as EU citizens.
