31/08/2010

Summary

The Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) data collection phase is now finished, marking the beginning of the drafting stage

Description

Migration Integration Policy IndexThe MIPEX scientific experts have gathered and inputted their data according to the MIPEX indicators on the seven strands: Labour market mobility; Family reunion; Long-term residence; Political participation; Access to nationality; Anti-discrimination and the new strand on Education.

The experts have reviewed every EU country, Norway, Switzerland, the US and Canada. All the MIPEX experts are top scholars and experts in their countries’ integration policies, independent from government and experienced in comparative research.

Following anonymous peer reviews and extensive quality and consistency checks, the data is now finalised allowing for MPG's analytical team to delve deeper into each country with the collaboration of MIPEX partners.

This will provide the MIPEX results with additional information in order for policymakers, civil society advocates and researchers to use the MIPEX as a tool to improve migrant integration policies in their countries.

The MIPEX III results will be made public in February 2011.
