Companion Guide to the Handbook on Integration III

Issued on 27/04/2010

Summary

This 'Companion Guide to the third edition of the Handbook on Integration for policy-makers and practitioners' is a compilation of the programmes of the seminars and the issues papers that went towards the drafting the Handbook on Integration III

Description

The third Handbook on Integration for policy-makers and practitioners was published by the European Commission and launched at the 4th EU Ministerial Conference on Integration, held in Zaragoza on 15 April 2010.

The Handbook was produced through a wide consultative process. Desk research and a series of issues papers, written by the Migration Policy Group, were discussed in meetings with the European Commission and the National Contact Points on Integration and then distributed among the participants of technical seminars.

These seminars took place in: Vienna (November 2007), Paris (November 2007), Athens (March 2008), Dublin (May 2008), Lisbon (November 2008) and Tallinn (February 2009), and involved nearly 600 participants from government and civil society from across Europe.

The conclusions of these seminars, drawing out key lessons learned and good practice examples, led to each of the six chapters of the Handbook.
