MPG works with partners to shape the terms of migration debates in Europe.        

Policy proposals 

In 2000, the Immigration Law Practitioners' Association (ILPA) and the Migration Policy Group (MPG) launched six legislative proposals in the areas of immigration and asylum, based on the new Title IV of the EC Treaty called the Amsterdam Proposals.                     

Monitoring developments

MPG also monitors national migration policies through National Migration Country Reports on immigration management in 18 countries and the European Civic Citizenship Index. The Index will be published annually and was published for the first time in 2005.
