On 4 September 2013, the European Economic and Social Committee is organising a hearing on A more inclusive citizenship open to immigrants.
MPG’s Director Jan Niessen has been invited as a key speaker at the event. He will present draft European standards on the acquisition of nationality by immigrants and their descendants, building on the recent EIF-funded research project ‘Access to Citizenship and its Impact on Immigrant Integration’ (ACIT). Jan Niessen will explain the links between naturalisation policies and comprehensive integration policies and then outline these standards for national laws and administrative practices.
