Summary
In the framwork of the ACIT project, a national stakeholder dialogue jointly organised with the Immigrant Council of Ireland will take place in Dublin.
Description
The main goals of the ACIT project are to explore the links between acquisition of nationality and the integration processes and to encourage effective measures for facilitating immigrants’ access to citizenship in the EU.
ACIT collects and compares available national and international evidence on how acquiring citizenship enhances immigrants’ participation in society and the democratic process. It analyses indicators to reveal the hidden links between citizenship and integration policies within EU competence, including anti-discrimination, family reunion and long-term residence.
Because of its large immigrant and foreign populations, Estonia has been selected for an in-depth ACIT case study.
