Summary

The Immigrant Citizens Survey, which asks immigrants to assess their aspirations and needs for integration and then evaluate how effective policies are in meeting them, features in the latest edition of the King Baudouin Foundation’s newsletter.

Surveys generally focus on immigrants’ integration by measuring social contact, identities and employment. “They do not look at the integration process, how people’s situation has improved over time or whether the policies work,” Huddleston says. “The ICS survey results show that policy does make a difference in migrants’ integration experiences.
