PRESENTATION
This project aims to describe, compare and assess the policies on immigration for employment (thus not for social, study and protection purposes) of the 27 Member States of the European Union.
The project will lead to the publication of three on-line papers which can be read jointly and individually. The first paper, A fair and reasonable deal, describes the scope of the research and provides a detailed account of the theoretical framework on which it is based. The second paper, Assessing immigration policies, presents the actual research outcomes by way of a country by country overview as well as a comparative analysis. The third paper, Improving European policies, puts this research into the European context and provides an overview and analysis of current EU policies. The research was carried in 2012 measuring the rules as they stood in each of the 27 EU Member States on 31st January 2012.
