Employment improves immigrants’ social contacts and reduces their risk of poverty and social exclusion. Are integration courses helpful for immigrants to find jobs? The results of the Immigrant Citizens Survey show that many participants of language and integration courses found them somehow helpful for finding jobs. Further analysis identifies which immigrants and under which conditions these courses are beneficial for labour market integration.
The Immigrant Citizens Survey asks immigrants to assess their aspirations and needs for integration and then evaluate how effective policies are in meeting them. The pilot starts in Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
