The European Commission Home Affairs Directorate-General (DG HOME) hosts the European Web Site on Integration (EWSI), a portal on integration-related issues in the EU. Launched in April 2009, the EWSI is one of the tools at the disposal of the European Commission to promote the integration of third-country nationals in the EU. This popular and reliable tool for all relevant stakeholders in the field of integration, the EWSI offers a “one-stop-shop” for existing information and good practices on immigrant integration from all Member States.
The EWSI covers all dimensions of integration process and it gathers information from various stakeholders, such as EU Institutions, national administrations, regional and local authorities, civil society, social partners, private enterprises, academia, international organisations, etc. Country Coordinators (have the general responsibility for ensuring a balance of contributions within their respective countries in terms of (a) themes; (b) types of information; and (c) types of contributors/stakeholders. In addition to this, Country Coordinators have specific responsibility for: locating potential documents and posting them on the EWSI; locating potential good practices and encouraging the owner(s) to submit them to the EWSI; locating relevant news items and events and posting them on the EWSI; locating relevant national funding schemes (for grants) and posting them on the EWSI).
