[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14511″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On 30 June and 1 July, MPG presented the MIPEX 2025 results for Luxembourg, with Ba\u015fak Yav\u00e7an, MPG\u2019s Head of Research, and Marianna Gorgerino, MPG\u2019s Intern, leading the discussions. The country\u2019s score – 61 out of 100<\/strong> – marked a one-point drop from the previous edition. But the number was only part of the story. The presentation brought together the Minist\u00e8re de la Famille, des Solidarit\u00e9s, du Vivre ensemble et de l’Accueil<\/a> Max Hahn<\/a>, civil society partners, and national expert Serge Kollwelter, and the discussion quickly moved beyond the numbers. It was a moment to reflect on participation, representation, and what meaningful inclusion looks like in Luxembourg today.<\/p>\n

Luxembourg remains in the \u201cslightly favourable\u201d category, a position that reflects both progress and persistent gaps. While the country continues to lead in areas like anti-discrimination<\/strong> and access to nationality<\/strong>, other domains, such as labour market mobility<\/strong>, healthcare<\/strong>, and political participation<\/strong>, reveal structural limitations that still shape the migrant experience.<\/p>\n

The one-point drop may seem minor, but it comes at a time when expectations are rising and when the dismantling of key participatory bodies, like the National Council for Foreigners (CNE)<\/strong>, has left a noticeable void.<\/p>\n

A Minister in the Room<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Minister Max Hahn did not deliver a speech. He asked questions. He listened. He wanted to understand how Luxembourg compares to its neighbours and where it could do better. The conversation touched on labour market access, family reunification, and the need to rebuild spaces for migrant political voice.<\/p>\n

MPG also invited the Minister to join the MIPEX 2025 Brussels launch this September<\/strong>, where national and EU policymakers will gather to reflect on the findings and shape future strategies.<\/p>\n

In addition to the main presentation, MPG also participated in two dedicated meetings with national stakeholders. The discussion brought together representatives from NGOs such as CEFIS<\/a>, ASTI<\/a>, SINGA Luxembourg<\/a>, Caritas<\/a>, and the Red Cross<\/a>, as well as members of Luxembourg\u2019s Parliament from multiple political parties. Topics included how to improve the political participation of foreigners at both national and local levels, how to accelerate the recognition of qualifications, the specific features of naturalisation in Luxembourg, and good practices from other countries.<\/p>\n
