[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9212″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Three MPG researchers have been chosen to present at the annual conference organised by IMISCOE (International Migration Research Network) \u2014 Europe\u2019s largest network of scholars in the area of migration and integration \u2014 marking MPG\u2019s continued role as a source of innovative research to advance evidence-based policies in this area.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

MPG well-represented at this year’s IMISCOE conference<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Giacomo Solano<\/a>, MPG\u2019s Head of Research, will be chairing a panel on \u2018Indicators in action: the comparative analysis of migration and migrant integration policies and its applications\u2019. The panel will display research from\u00a0the HumMingBird<\/a> project, the Regions for Migrants and Integration (REGIN<\/a>) project, and the National Integration Evaluation Mechanism (NIEM<\/a>) project. Within this session, Carmine Conte<\/a>, MPG\u2019s Legal Policy Analyst, will present on \u2018Measuring and Comparing Integration Policies on Refugees and Beneficiaries of Subsidiary Protection\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a separate panel, entitled \u2018Integrating migrants in small and medium-sized towns and rural areas \u2014 perspectives on multilevel governance, political dynamics and practices of access to rights from the Whole-COMM<\/a> Project’, Solano will present a paper on \u2018The effect of migrants\u2019 integration policies on their labour market integration: a comparison between urban and rural EU regions\u2019. In doing so, he will cite data from MPG\u2019s innovative research projects, in particular Whole-Comm, and the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX<\/a>).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also speaking at the conference will be MPG\u2019s Integration Policy Analyst, Sinem Yilmaz<\/a>, who will be approaching the field of migration from a gender perspective in her presentation on gender-blind migration theories and national- and local-level data sources, building on the work she has done in the HumMingBird and Whole-Comm<\/a> projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
