The is a unique tool which measures integration policies in 56 countries across 8 policy areas. It provides up-to-date, comprehensive research data and analysis on which to base policies, proposals for change and projects.
Besides data on national integration policies, MPG now also gather data on policies at the regional – Regin (MIPEX-R) – and local levels – Whole-COMM (MIPEX-L).
The article studies Syrians who gained Turkish citizenship and finds that legal status improves, but real social integration remains limited. Using MIPEX as a reference, it shows that good policies alone do not ensure inclusion in daily life. Many new citizens still face discrimination, weak social acceptance, and barriers to full participation.
The article introduces the IMIGRENT index, a new way to measure how attractive European countries are for immigrant entrepreneurs. It compares IMIGRENT with MIPEX, noting that MIPEX focuses on migrant rights and integration, while IMIGRENT adds practical business factors like company registration, permits, and access to services. It shows that legislation strongly shapes opportunities for both EU and non-EU entrepreneurs. Nordic countries and Estonia score highest, while some Eastern European states lag. Overall, the paper argues that entrepreneurship supports both economic freedom and migrant inclusion.
