MPG presents ‘Good Practice Adaptation Toolkit’ and ‘Exemplary Practices Database’ at SprINg conference

On the 31 of January Sinem Yilmaz (Integration Policy Analyst) and Alexander Wolffhardt (Deputy Director) presented two new contributions of MPG to the SprINg project.

The ‘Good Practice Adaptation Toolkit’ aims to support practitioners with the adaptation of successful integration practices for migrants and their descendants in Europe. Despite the wealth of expertise and experience in integration policy, direct transfer of good practices is rare due to practical and structural obstacles.

The toolkit is based on the findings of “How can Good Practices be Transferred/Upscaled“, another publication from MPG created for SprINg.  It was developed for practitioners in the non-governmental sector, public authorities, and organisations concerned with migrant integration. It provides 20 questions to help practitioners assess the potential success of adapting a good practice found elsewhere.

The Exemplary Practices Database features over 40 integration practices from across Europe that serve as inspiration to practitioners. The practices were evaluated and selected by using the Integration Practices Validation Grid. Each of the practices has one or more of the 5 qualities (Inclusivity & Participation; Relevance and Complementarity; Effectiveness, Sustainability; Partnership and Cooperation) identified in the validation grid.
