MPG participates in the European Commission’s meeting on the implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum

On 23 May 2024, MPG participated in the meeting on the adoption and implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum organised by DG HOME with NGOs to discuss the main challenges.

Carmine Conte, MPG’s Senior Analyst who took part in the meeting, pointed out that the EU policy debate is not considering the impact of integration policies on the functioning of the overall EU asylum system.

According to our NIEM data and research, EUI Member States have significantly diverging integration standards and policies for refugees and this is one of the many reasons why the EU asylum system remains dysfunctional.
