The is a unique tool which measures integration policies in 56 countries across 8 policy areas. It provides up-to-date, comprehensive research data and analysis on which to base policies, proposals for change and projects.
Besides data on national integration policies, MPG now also gather data on policies at the regional – Regin (MIPEX-R) – and local levels – Whole-COMM (MIPEX-L).
The article examines the long-term health of Thai migrant women in Japan, finding that their self-rated health declines over time. This trend is linked to limited access to support systems and challenges in social integration. The authors highlight Japan’s low score on the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) as an indicator of these structural barriers. MIPEX is used to illustrate the country’s weak policies on migrant inclusion. The study calls for improved integration efforts to support migrant well-being.
The article explores the spatial and socio-economic trajectories of Ukrainian refugees across Europe following the 2022 Russian invasion. It uses survey data to examine refugees’ experiences with housing, employment, and integration. The study compares outcomes across different host countries, highlighting significant variation. MIPEX scores are used to assess how national integration policies shape refugee experiences. The authors find that more inclusive policy environments tend to support better integration outcomes.
