Migrant Integration Hub annual meeting: MPG brings together EU and experts
On 24 and 25 September 2025, MPG connected officials leading the European Commission (EC)’s work on migrant integration with civil society and academia representatives from across the 27 EU countries. This took place as part of the annual editorial meeting of the Migrant Integration Hub, the successor of the European Website on Integration (EWSI).
The project, owned by the EC’s Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME), provides the only EU-wide source bringing up-to-date information and good practices on migrant integration. MPG coordinates a network of integration experts across the EU and leads on content and project work.
The meeting was the 14th annual such event, and MPG has run the project for 18 years now. Over these years, EWSI – unique in its scope in the EU, steadily grew in popularity among its readers, with annual hikes in visits of 40 to 121%. The project changed websites and prioritised more and more newsworthy content. And, earlier this year, a new phase of the project launched: the Migrant Integration Hub.
The future direction of the Migrant Integration Hub was a main topic during the event. The new pages will soon boast more content, with a renewed focus on news updates and telling the stories of inspiring and successful integration projects.
The meeting also centred the results of the EC’s mid-term review of the progress made on the Action plan on integration and inclusion (2021-2027). The 27 EU integration experts provided feedback on how to continue the implementation of the action plan until 2027. To help the EC monitor the completed initiatives as well as the areas needing further intervention, MPG created earlier an action plan progress tracker.
