What should the EU do next? Calling on migrant and refugee organisations to take part in our New Europeans Survey 2026

We are launching our New Europeans Survey 2026, inviting migrant- and refugee-led organisations and activists across Europe to share their priorities for the future of EU policy. 

Building on the findings of our first New Europeans Survey 2024, this follow-up inquiry explores how the priorities, opportunities and challenges facing migrant- and refugee-led organisations have evolved over the past two years, creating valuable evidence on emerging trends and changing needs across Europe. 

The findings will help direct MPG’s work on how the EU can better support migrant and refugee communities, strengthen democratic participation and develop more inclusive policies over the coming years. The previous survey’s results were also presented to EU policymakers and other key stakeholders, forging new connections between migrant organisations and the European Commission (EC) and contributing to the larger policy discussions in Brussels and beyond.

The questions cover a range of issues that are central to the future of migrant inclusion and participation, including: 

• democratic participation and representation
• the implementation of the EU Migration and Asylum Pact
• organisational sustainability, funding and civic space
• the evolving needs of migrant and refugee communities
• priorities for EU action over the next five years
