Does the EU live up to its values? MPG researcher to address this from a refugee integration perspective

MPG’s Integration Policy Analyst, Dr. Sinem Yilmaz, has been invited to present at EU Watch‘s policy conference which centres around the theme “Migration and Integration: Does the European Union Live up to its Values?”

Dr. Yilmaz will specifically address the extent to which the EU is living up to its values in terms of refugee integration.  Drawing upon data from the National Integration Evaluation Mechanism, Dr. Yilmaz will show how, in general, refugees rarely experience fully favourable integration conditions in any area of life. Moreover, the widest gaps remain to be in policies that actively support integration, the mainstreaming of policies for long-term inclusion, as well as multi-level and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
