MIPEX is the Migration Policy Group’s flagship tool for measuring and comparing integration policies across more than 50 countries, including all EU member states and key countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania. MIPEX provides a comprehensive, data-driven assessment of how governments support the integration of migrants across key policy areas. Recognised by policymakers, NGOs, and researchers worldwide, it serves as a vital resource for improving integration standards, evaluating policy effectiveness, and informing public debate.
In May, as part of its commitment to evidence-based policymaking, MPG has been actively participating in various events and expert discussions across Europe to present early findings from MIPEX 2024 and contribute to dialogue on improving migrant integration through better policies.

Presentation of MIPEX 2024 Germany results on migrant labour integration: MPG presented early findings from MIPEX 2024 during a recent workshop in Berlin, organised by the European Liberal Forum and supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Türkiye Office, highlighting key trends in migrant integration across Europe. Dr. Başak Yavçan, Head of Research at MPG, highlighted Germany’s strong performance in labour market integration, currently ranking 4th in the EU with a score of 81/100. The session, which featured discussions with civil society and policymakers including MEP Jan-Christoph Oetjen, examined how effective integration policies can contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Europe.
Presentation of MIPEX 2024 Netherlands results: MPG brought a sharp evidence-based perspective to the Migration Homecoming Days, with Dr. Mojib Atal, Integration Policy Analyst at MPG, presenting key findings on the Netherlands from MIPEX 2024. The data pointed to a concerning stagnation in integration policy despite rising migrant numbers. MPG also presented MIREX, its new Migration Return Policy Index, developed to evaluate the quality and fairness of return and readmission systems across Europe. Hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the panel also explored how externalisation and securitisation are reshaping Europe’s migration agenda , a trend MPG continues to monitor closely through its research.

Launch of MIPEX 2024 Ireland results: MPG presented the latest MIPEX findings at the Irish National Integration Conference, hosted by the Immigrant Council of Ireland. Dr. Başak Yavçan, Head of Research at MPG, shared an updated picture of Ireland’s integration policies, highlighting both progress and persistent gaps. MPG’s analysis provided evidence-based recommendations to support more inclusive approaches and stronger migrant participation across key areas of public policy.

On 26 May, MPG launched the MIPEX results for Germany at a dedicated lunch discussion in Berlin. The event featured insights from Dr. Başak Yavçan, Head of Research at MPG and German rapporteur Claudia Köhler, who examined how Germany’s integration policies have developed between 2020 and 2024. The discussion also placed Germany’s performance in a broader EU context, providing a comparative lens to identify progress, gaps, and priorities for future policy reform.
