Voting Rights

Voting rights enable individuals to exert political power and influence the laws and policies which affect them. The right to vote acknowledges immigrants as equal members of the community, granting them a say in the election of legislative bodies and governments. The New Europeans Initiative explores the state of voting rights for non-citizens in EU countries across all levels and the potential of extending voting rights for democratic involvement, integration and inclusive citizenship.
