The first 2026 non-discrimination country reports are being released now

What are the latest trends and developments in the area of non-discrimination across the EU? The European network of legal experts in gender equality and non-discrimination has started publishing its 2026 non-discrimination country reports.

The publications assessing the level of transposition and implementation of the Racial Equality Directive (Council Directive 2000/43 which combats discrimination on the grounds of racial or ethnic origin) and the Employment Equality Directive (Council Directive 2000/78 which establishes a general framework for equal treatment in employment and occupation) in the 27 EU Member States during the period of 1 January 2025 – 1 January 2026.

About the European network of legal experts in gender equality and non-discrimination

The European network of legal experts in gender equality and non-discrimination provides independent information to the European Commission (EC) and the public on the transposition and implementation of the EU’s non-discrimination and gender equality law across 36 countries. The network is jointly managed by Human European Consultancy, Migration Policy Group (MPG) and Utrecht University (UU) on behalf of the EC.
